When and Where
Winners will be announced at the Texas State German Contest Awards ceremony at Texas State University, San Marcos. Checks will be presented by a representative of the GTHS and/or by Jennifer Christianson, Director of the TSGC.
IMPORTANT:1st – 3rd place winners must submit their papers and a headshot to the director of German Texan Heritage Society by April 30 to receive their scholarship money. If those papers are not submitted by the deadline, their scholarship money will be forfeited.
All top 5 winners who have submitted their papers and headshots to the director by the April 30 deadline will be published in the summer journal of the German Texan Heritage Society. Email: christopher.markley@germantexans.org
Why
THE GTHS was founded in 1978 by three educators (Mary El-Beheri, Dona Reeves-Marquardt and Anna Thompson). It is important to the Society to promote educational projects. The organizaton wants and needs the support of educators.
Who is eligible?
Students who win 1st thru 5th place at the TSGC. Their teachers are encouraged to be members of the GTHS at the time of their winning; however, membership will not affect scholarship eligibility.
